I’m a Clinical Psychologist in Harpenden with 26 years’ experience helping adults in both the NHS and private sector. Trained and accredited in several evidence-based therapy approaches, my goal is to help you move from distress towards living the life you want.

I work with adults who want to move from distress to stability, and from stability to a life that feels rich, meaningful, and aligned with their values. Some people come to me when they feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsure of their next step. Others are seeking clarity, confidence, and personal or professional growth.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy is a powerful, evidence-based therapy for processing traumatic or distressing experiences. Qualifications & Accreditations
I am a highly qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience, holding advanced training in multiple evidence-based therapies. I hold additional accreditations in Schema Therapy, EMDR and CBT. My practice meets the highest standards of professional training, ethics and ongoing supervision.
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UCL & HCPC Accreditation
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London in 2007. Clinical Psychologist is a legally protected title. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the UK’s regulatory body for clinical psychologists (Registration No. PYL04530). I am also a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society.
Training in Schema Therapy and Accreditation with the ISST
I have completed the full International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) approved training curriculum in Schema Therapy, progressing from foundational theory and core techniques through to advanced clinical skills. This was complemented by extensive supervised clinical practice and formal competency assessment, leading to accreditation as a Schema Therapist with the ISST (Membership No. UK96328253)
Post graduate Diploma in CBT and BABCP Accreditation
Awarded by the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London (2010), my training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) was complemented by specialist supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I am fully accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies as a CBT therapist (Membership No. 16308).
Training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and EMDR UK Accreditation
I have completed all three levels of EMDR training, alongside the required supervision and assessment for full EMDR UK accreditation (Registration No. 174734). EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety-related difficulties, and I also apply it in coaching contexts to help clients grow beyond recovery.
Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology
Awarded in 2021. This advanced training enhanced my expertise in understanding and working with the relationship between brain function and psychological wellbeing.
MSc in Applied Psychology from Brunel University
Completed prior to my doctoral training, this MSc strengthened my research skills and evidence-based approach to practice.
BA Hons In Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford
I studied Experimental Psychology at Wadham College, Oxford, graduating in 2000, and have worked in mental health since.

I offer in-person sessions in Harpenden at the Southdown Clinic, a comfortable, private space with free parking nearby. Based in Harpenden, the clinic is easily accessible for clients across St Albans, Luton and surrounding Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Some clients prefer "walk and talk" sessions, and I'm happy that we make use of the beautiful green spaces around Harpenden and St Albans.

See me from anywhere in the world, without the commute, from the comfort of your own home. Secure online sessions are provided via Zoom, enabling us to see each other and share materials. Telephone sessions are also available. For online EMDR, I use a platform called Bilateral Base, which works well.
